Reverend Joseph “Joe” Kramis passed away peacefully on Thursday night, November 14, 2019 in Seattle, Washington. He earned his JCL from Catholic University in the early 1960’s.
In addition to his role as pastor in many parishes, he served in the Tribunal and Chancellor’s offices for the Archdiocese of Seattle under several archbishops, including Archbishop Raymond Hunthausen in the aftermath of Vatican II. Father Kramis helped to put into practice the teachings of the council in the archdiocese. His particular concern was due process and the role of the laity in the Church.
Father Kramis was a wonderful priest and mentor to many priests and laity. The Vigil Service will be Friday, December 6 at 5:00 pm and the Funeral Mass will be Saturday, December 7 at 10:00 am. Both will be at All Saints Church in Puyallup, Washington. Father Kramis will be missed by many.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
Post submitted by Cecilia Brennan, JCL, Director of the Tribunal for the Diocese of Monterey.
