Sister Lucy Mary Blyskal, CSJ

Sister Lucy Mary, CSJ died peacefully on Tuesday, June, 23rd. She resided in St. Joseph Convent, Brentwood, New York. She was in her 61st year of her religious life as a Sister of St. Joseph. Sister Lucy became member of the CLSA in 1986 shortly after receiving her licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America. She would later go on to receive her doctorate in canon law from Catholic University in 1987. She was also a member of the committee that wrote the CLSA publication, "The Canonical Implications of Ordaining Women to the Permanent Diaconate."


Sister Lucy was buried on June 25, 2020, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Please remember Sister Lucy, her family, friends, and the sisters in her community in your prayers. Memorial donations can be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 1725 Brentwood Road, Brentwood, NY 11717.
