The Holy Father has appointed the Most Reverend Brian J. Dunn as coadjutor archbishop of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth, Canada, transferring him from the Diocese of Antigonish.

Bishop Dunn has been a member of the Canon Law Society of America since 1999. He holds a doctorate in canon law from Saint Paul’s University of Ottawa and a master’s degree in liturgy from Notre Dame University, Indiana. He has served as parish vicar and parish priest in four parishes over a period of fourteen years, as well as professor at Saint Paul’s University and in St. Peter’s Seminary, London, Ontario, Canada. He has consecrated a bishop in 2008, serving as an auxiliary in Sault Ste. Marie until his transferral to Antigonish in 2010.
