The Reverend Monsignor Raymond Goehring, JCL, a senior priest of the Diocese of Lansing, serves as a tribunal judge and as a Defender of the Bond for a west cost diocese. He is available for canonical services with limited or no travel. References are available upon request. In Lansing, Msgr. Goehring began his career as an assessor, principally writing marriage case arguments for the judge to consider. He received the Signatura indult to be a judge, but went to The Catholic University of America for his licentiate in canon law. He continued as a judge and served as Judicial Vicar from 2000 to 2010. Considering all cases and dioceses, he estimates he has completed or defended approximately 9,000 cases, including ordinary process, Pauline, lack of form, defect of form, and ligamen (but not Petrine). He initiated the diocesan policy manual and conducted several revisions, and he is listed with the USCCB as prepared for Graviora cases as judge, defense advocate, and promoter. He has been the defense advocate for one case of Graviora that went to CDF, which decided on reinstatement. Msgr. Goehring is able to translate from Latin to English.
