Canon Law and Your Computer

The Canon Law Society of America is committed to use all of the means of social communication to enable Christ's faithful to know and live God's will, especially as shaped by the laws of the Catholic Church.

Current and future projects include:

A private internet Newsgroup for canon lawyers serves as a forum for exchange of ideas among practitioners of the law. Although not owned by or operated under Society auspices, it is open to all CLSA members, and to others upon recommendation of a CLSA member or other appropriate Church source. To view more information on this Newsgroup, click here. (Another, more restricted canonical Newsgroup also exists for those canonists who are also civil attorneys; to request information regarding it, click here.)

The Society no longer offers the Latin and English texts of the 1983 Code of Canon Law, and the English text of the 1990 Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches, to individual computer users in formats designed for personal use and study using popular word-processors. The Society has given permission to St. Paul University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, to reproduce the texts of The Code of Canon Law, Latin-English Edition, Revised English Translation in its CD-ROM collection of ecclesiastical documents. For more information about this CD-ROM, contact the publications service at St. Paul University.

Another Society project is this Internet site on the World Wide Web!.

If you have any ideas which will help the Canon Law Society of America help you, please E-mail either the Office of the Executive Coordinator.
